Job Description

Overview

The HR Assistant supports daily human resources operations by managing administrative tasks, maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment, and helping ensure smooth HR workflows. This role plays a key part in keeping the HR department organized, compliant, and responsive to employee needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, files, and HR databases.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
  • Support onboarding processes by preparing new-hire paperwork, coordinating orientations, and ensuring completion of required forms.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Assist with payroll preparation by collecting timecards and verifying employee information.
  • Help maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws, company policies, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare HR documents such as offer letters, status changes, and training materials.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities, trainings, and meetings.
  • Support performance review processes and maintain related documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, scheduling, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of administrative or HR support experience (or internship experience).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with HRIS systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
